60 Years of Pagets

We would like to thank everyone who attended our 60th Anniversary week from September 11th-15th. The celebrations were very successful, with special offers, competitions, supplier trade mornings, and a variety of food on offer every day. Perhaps the biggest success of the week was our Prize Draw, we have given away over £6000 worth of prizes! and the Pork sarnies weren’t bad either!  We hope all customers, old and new enjoyed the event. Thank you from everyone at Pagets for your continued support.

Fundraising for Bluebell Wood

It was a cold but sunny start for the Pagets team on April 2nd, when they set off from London on a 158 mile expedition to raise money for Bluebell Wood.

The team – which consisted of Alan Cassim, Paul Wainwright, Callum Price and Tom Straw – has yet again embarked on an epic 158 miles walk from the capital to Sheffield, all for their local children’s hospice, which means a lot to them and the Sheffield community.

Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice cares for children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions. The hospice, based on North Anston, supports around 250 families, both in the community and at the hospice. Their support is wide-ranging and includes end of life care, music therapy, counselling, sibling support, short breaks and more.

Now for the 2nd year in a row the team from Pagets Builders Merchants, who have been established for 60 years in Sheffield, set themselves the mission to walk from London to Sheffield to fundraise for Bluebell Wood. By working with their fantastic customers, suppliers and supporters, Pagets had already raised a huge £3,500 even before the walk began.

Alan Cassim, one of the Pagets team, said: “It meant so much to us to be able to fundraise for Bluebell Wood. The walk was extremely hard – with many sores and pains – but we were spurred on by the thought of all the families that Bluebell Wood help during the toughest of times. Thank you so much to all our family, friends and customers for their support; we can’t wait to raise even more money for the hospice.”

Julie Hampson, Corporate Fundraiser at Bluebell Wood, added: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to the Pagets team for completing their gruelling 158 mile walk for a second time to raise money for Bluebell Wood. Our hospice is filled with lots of love and laughter; and their support means we can continue to create special memories for our children and families, whether they have days, weeks, months or years together.”

The fundraising walk, which took seven days to complete, is just one of the ways the team at Pagets hope to support Bluebell Wood. You can still donate for this event, by visiting the Pagets, donation page: www.mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/pagets-walk.
