At our Broadfield Road branch we have a large display area that you look around at your leisure, and see what the different products look like in place.  Websites and catalogues can only give an impression of the look and feel of a product.  Nothing beats seeing the real thing!  We would always recommend that landscaping products are seen "for real" before a commitment is made.

There are so many different materials available that you can very quickly become confused.  We want you to be delighted with your purchase for many years, so would recommend that you first consider the questions below.  They are in no particular order and of course everyone has their own priorities for their perfect garden.

• What colours do you prefer?  Dark or light?  If colour is a priority for you this could dictate what type of material you need.
• Are you looking to create a consistent colour as provided by reconstituted stone, or would you prefer a more variable colour such as that obtained with natural stone?
• Are you looking to match to an existing structure such as your house or a boundary wall?
• Is your garden to be functional as well as decorative?  Do you have dogs or other pets to think about?
• Do you have a precise budget?  Materials generally account for 20%-25% of a project.  It is worthwhile obtaining the keenest price on the labour element and then ensuring that there is enough budget left for the materials that you have set your heart on.  A clear plan of your design also helps keep the cost down.
• You wouldn’t want to see a favourite picture in a bad frame so after deciding on your materials and design make sure that you frame it by planting or using contrasting edgings.
• Is the area to be hard landscaped in a dark area or prone to moss and other growth?  If so you may need to consider a surface that can be easily cleaned.
• Is your garden regularly used for entertaining, or just for a quiet coffee or glass of wine?  Either way a sealer for the surface will prevent spillages staining and help keep a more vibrant colour to your chosen paving.
• You are more than welcome to take home a sample of your chosen paving to see how it looks and feels in your garden.
